The new BTL Bank headquarters, located in the emerging district of Centre Urbain Nord in Tunisia, was the subject of a national architectural competition launched by BTL. As one of the leading banks connecting Tunisia and Libya, BTL embodies economic cooperation, cultural unity, and business engagement between the two nations. Our design concept seeks to reflect these values while projecting the bank’s identity and solidarity, all within a framework of energy efficiency and sustainability.

The architectural approach prioritizes environmental responsiveness: thick exterior walls allow sunlight to penetrate during the winter while filtering heat during the hot season. This creates a timeless design capable of adapting to natural climate variations, reducing reliance on air conditioning, and ensuring long-term comfort. The façade features a claustra inspired by the flags of Tunisia and Libya, focusing on the five-pointed star motif. This element not only symbolizes the unity between these two countries but also resonates with the broader Arab world. The claustra also functions as a sunshade, minimizing heat absorption while maintaining visual permeability.

Inside, the building offers a luxurious yet functional environment. A central atrium serves as the heart of the headquarters, creating visual connections between floors, meeting areas, and workspaces. This design fosters interaction, transparency, and a sense of openness, while the high-quality materials and refined detailing reinforce a sense of prestige and elegance appropriate for a flagship banking institution.
