ISET Zaghouan is designed to honor and reinterpret our cultural heritage through a contemporary architectural language. The project draws inspiration from architectural features commonly found across the MENA region, such as rhythmic arcades, shaded circulation spaces, and controlled openness, while integrating distinctive elements rooted in the identity of Tunisia and the specific character of the Zaghouan region.

The building’s hallways are conceived as luminous transitional spaces, covered with glass and naturally illuminated by sunlight throughout the day. This design creates an ever-changing sky reflected on the ceilings, offering users a dynamic spatial experience that evolves with time and climate. The interplay of light and transparency enhances orientation, comfort, and visual continuity across the campus.

The main entrance is emphasized by a vaulted structure, acting as a symbolic threshold that recalls traditional architectural forms while providing a strong and welcoming identity. This architectural gesture reinforces the institution’s presence and establishes a dialogue between heritage and modernity. Overall, the project seeks to combine cultural memory, functional efficiency, and contemporary expression, creating an educational environment that is both meaningful and inspiring.
