The new South Mediterranean University (SMU) building in Lac 2 is conceived as an educational landmark, designed to symbolize the importance of investment in education in Tunisia. Its contemporary architecture features a triangular, pearl-inspired form, evoking the “pearl of the lake” and giving the building a unique and recognizable presence within the urban context.
The design combines striking geometry with functional clarity, accommodating classrooms, administrative offices, and communal spaces in a layout that promotes interaction, learning, and accessibility.Large glazed façades allow abundant natural light, while the building’s sculptural form enhances its visual identity and establishes it as a symbol of knowledge, innovation, and the country’s commitment to educational development.
